Just steps from the ocean on the picturesque north coast overlooking Samui’s sister island of Koh Phangan, The Lodge sits right in the heart of Fisherman’s Village. The charming beachside shopping and dining strip provides visitors with a glimpse of traditional island life, as well as offering a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
Thanks mainly to the area’s pro-active business community, Bophut has developed without losing its unique, traditional character. The area still lives up to the name “Fisherman’s Village”, despite the many restaurants and boutiques that occupy most of the refurbished shop houses.
The beach extends beyond the village several kilometres up the coast and is home to a number of quality resorts and private villa developments, as well as The Wharf, an open air shopping mall that’s been carefully designed to suit its beachside location and offers visitors an enticing range of retail and dining choices.
Every Friday from 5 –10 pm, Fisherman's Village is closed off to vehicles and the street turns into a vibrant street market with colourful stalls lining the seaside strip selling local crafts, tasty snacks and souvenirs.
